Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 01/19/2026 Duration: 17 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Acute Med Surg Job Details: • Work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (unit closes Friday at 7:00 PM) • Unit is closed on weekends • Holiday requirements only if they fall during the week • Minimum 1 year experience in Acute Care Med Surg setting required • 14-bed unit with 1:5 nurse to patient ratios • Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS • Strict 75-mile radius rule is enforced • Potential float to Med Surg unit if census is low • Dress code: Caribbean Blue top & bottom OR White top & Caribbean Blue bottom OR all white top/bottom • Typically 3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation • Care for admission hold patients, overflow medical observation patients, and discharge pending patients • Provide medication administration (IV and PO), basic care, pain control with PO orders only • No IV drip titration required • Charge nurse may take patient assignment • 1 CNA available on unit • Use MEDITECH charting system • BSN not required Facility: This healthcare facility operates a specialized acute care med surg unit that focuses on transitional patient care including admission holds, overflow patients, and discharge pending cases.
