Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Macon, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/26/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Macon, Georgia, 31201! Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience required License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; CCRN preferred Must-Have: Traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding. Skills required include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer, and the ability to manage common drips. Description: The position is for an RN in the Intensive Care Unit. The facility has 637 licensed beds and is a Level 1 trauma designation teaching hospital. Each ICU unit has 10-20 beds. Patient types include Critical Care, Medical ICU, Surgical Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, and Progressive Care Unit (Step Down Unit). Patient ratios are 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:3-4 for PCU. Most units have 1-2 CNAs per shift to assist with vitals, blood glucose checks, beds, and patient care. The unit secretary is present from 7 am to 11 pm, and there is a charge nurse on each shift. RNs will draw labs off of central lines, and a PICC team is available for assistance. Support staff includes RTs, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7. Central telemetry is monitored, and RNs will sign off on the telemetry strips. The technology and equipment used include EPIC for EMR, Alaris for IV pumps, and Pyxis for medication dispensing. Travelers are utilized in a float pool capacity and may be required to float to all med/tele units as needed. The schedule includes weekend rotations with an expectation to work one shift during each major holiday. Requests for time off must go through the manager for approval. Shift times are from 7 am to 7 pm or 7 pm to 7 am.
