14456 Short Description: 36 Hours per week PLUS CALL (1 hour call
response time). call rotation which includes two full weekends of
call and one weekday/week per Response time 1 hours; NO WEEKENDS/NO
HOLIDAYS EXCEPT CALL. Shifts: 6:30am/7:30am-15:30/16:30 (4-day x
9hr/day contracts) with full call rotation (outlined in short
description) *Floating is required if needed by FLH Complete
Description: 6-8 DAYS OF CALL PER MONTH, WHICH MUST INCLUDE 1
FRIDAY, 1 SATURDAY AND 1 SUNDAY. RESPONSE TIME IS 1 HOUR FOR ENDO
RN. SHIFTS START 6:30AM (PRE-OP ENDO) 7AM (CIRCULATOR/TECH ENDO) OR
7:30AM (POST OP ENDO) DEPENDENT UPON ASSIGNED ROLE FOR THE DAY (AKA
SHIFT START TIME 6:30-7:30AM The Registered Nurse applies knowledge
of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in
delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and
families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need,
develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary
team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and
coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The
Endo RN develops specialized skill in the area of patient admitted
for medical conditions. He/She provides care to adult, adolescent,
and geriatric populations with medical conditions. The Endo RN is
accountable for patient family education to assist in understanding
self care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to
support health and healing. The Endo Registered Nurse is expected
to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a Healing
Environment. -Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery
of care. -Assesses patient / family needs through active listening,
social perceptiveness (being aware of others' reactions and
understanding why they react as they do), and analyzing data or
information obtained through direct observation/assessment,
technology, or health team communication. Creates a developmentally
and age appropriate, culturally relevant, individualized plan of
care to address the nature and scope of the health problems
identified. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician,
and healthcare team members, sets goals and monitors the patient’s
progress. The RN adjusts the plan based on patient response or
change in condition/reprioritization of needs. -Promotes, advocates
for and protects the health, safety and rights of the patient.
Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among
team members to accomplish the best possible patient outcome.
Teaches others as appropriate and delegates tasks and interventions
consistent with the individual’s education, training, and scope of
practice. Understands the personal responsibility to safeguard
public safety through compliance with infection prevention
strategies. -Motivates the patient/family by teaching them what is
needed to continue care/healing at home. Assesses the
patient/family learning styles and structures the sessions to
maximize understanding. Seeks “teachable” moments during the care
delivery process to emphasize pertinent information. Asks questions
to evaluate retention of key points in the self care process.
Provides tools and information to assist the patient’s family after
discharge. Documents the education provided and the patient/family
response to the education. -Systematically evaluates quality and
effectiveness of Nursing Practice and uses the results of quality
improvement activities to initiate changes in individual nursing
practice and care delivery. Engages in self-evaluation of practice,
identifying strengths and areas in which professional development
would be beneficial. Takes accountability to increase knowledge and
enhance skill. Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths
and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches
to problems. -Nursing practice reflects the importance of making a
meaningful connection with patient/family. -Seeks to develop a
helping, trusting, and caring relationship by being present in the
moment of interaction, listening, communicating, engaging, and
anticipating the patient/family needs. Strives to understand what
is most important to the patient/family, acknowledging that the
patient and family are the central focus of all care and services.
Embraces the importance of creating a -Healing Environment as a key
element of professional nursing practice. -Demonstrates skill in
application of interventions including medication administration.
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably
anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood,
