Description: Job SummaryProvide therapy for patients who demonstrate deficits with feeding/swallowing and communication disorders. Provide instruction/supervision of student interns. Use equipment/technology to achieve the best outcomes. Document all treatment sessions per department procedure after each encounter. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of Phoebe. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License and meet auto insurability requirements as approved by Phoebe Putney Health System's insurance company. Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelinesWorking Conditions General environment\: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms. May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse May be scheduled as needed including overtimeQualification: Education Requirements Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology (Required)Experience Requirements 2 - 3 years Diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of "typical" disorders including articulation, language, voice and fluency.(Preferred) 2 - 3 years Knowledge of developmental norms, language acquisition, and early intervention.(Preferred) 2 - 3 years Experience with a range of ages including neonates-geriatrics.(Preferred) 2 - 3 years Behavioral management.(Preferred) 2 - 3 years Patient/caregiver counseling.(Preferred)General Skills Organizational Skills,Communication Skills,Interpersonal Skills,Customer Relations,Analytical,Grammar / Spelling,Read / Comprehend Written Instructions,Follow Verbal Instructions,Basic Computer Skills,Microsoft Office Suite.Physical Requirements Have near normal hearing; Hear alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice Have near normal vision\: Clarity of vision (both near and far), ability to distinguish colors Have good manual dexterity Have good eye-hand-foot coordination Ability to perform repetitive tasks/motionPhysical Demands Occasionally within shift (1-33%) \: Climbing,Pushing/Pulling,Reaching above shoulder,Lift/carry > 50 lbs with assistance. Frequently within shift (34-66%) \: Standing,Walking,Sitting,Bending/Stooping,Twist at waist,Lift/carry up to 20 lbs,Lift/carry > 20 lbs with assistance.Certifications and Licensures Required Certifications/Licensures \: Speech Language Pathology (SLP),Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathologist with current Georgia License.
