Administrator candidates located near the commutable Tallahassee,
FL area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite
presence Required Education: • A bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university Preferred Certification: •
Microsoft Certified Solutions or Professional Developer or similar.
Database Administrator Minimum Required Skills: • Ten (10) years of
successful database Administration and data-driven system
development/integration experience using Microsoft SQL Server. •
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer
programming and systems design. • Ability to evaluate and implement
users’ requests for new data elements and systems and incorporate
into the existing shared data environment. • Ability to coordinate
the use of the organization's data to ensure data integrity and
control redundancy. • Ability to perform data modeling and
prototyping. • Knowledge of maintaining necessary database
security. • Skilled in monitoring database performance and
implementing efficiency improvements. • Ability to create a test
database environment for the applications section, including the
creation of necessary libraries and procedures. • Ability to
develop and maintain database access procedures to ensure the
proper control of the database. • Ability to assist
programmers/analysts in programming database objects and conduct
walk-throughs to ensure database efficiency. • Ability to prepare
program specifications. • Ability to set up and/or execute the jobs
necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware
and software failures within established procedures. • Ability to
plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. • Ability to
communicate technical information effectively. • Ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Database Administrator Preferred Skills: • Experience with APD
Client Management data and Administrative data systems to include
ABC, iBudget, iConnect, and the APD data warehouses. Database
Administrator Responsibilities: • Works as a subject matter expert
for data integration, data exchange and interfaces between internal
and external systems associated with the agency’s budget and
financial business units. Assists in the definition, development,
and documentation of the business requirements, objectives,
deliverables, and specifications needed to develop software
programs and applications. • Collaborates between the application
developer/DBA and the business unit on working with various Client,
budget and financial systems. Writes programming scripts necessary
to enhance functionality and/or performance of existing APD
applications as necessary. • Acts as a liaison between APD and the
external agency technical staff on resolving issues with
interfaces, data integration and data exchange jobs associated with
FLAIR. • Liaise with network administrators, database
administrators, system analysts, and business owners to assist in
resolving problems with applications and programs. • Perform system
testing and maintain the test results for various APD systems. As
