Job SummaryOur client is looking for a Manufacturing & Tooling Engineer to evaluate, prioritize, update, and implement, and integrate manufacturing processes with tooling that result in high-quality products, higher efficiency, lower costs, and overall ease of manufacturing and assembly. You will need to have good knowledge of tool design and fabrication methods, commitment to quality, familiar with safety and environmental standards, and project management skills. Creative and progressive thinking are required to be a competent manufacturing and tooling engineer.Essential Job FunctionsManufacturing and Tool Engineering are necessary to ensure our manufacturing and production lines work efficiently and effectively to satisfy our customers.Manufacturing: Evaluate manufacturing processes, develop effective systems, and test new and existing manufacturing and production procedures.Tooling: Developing new tooling methods, building innovative tools and revamping tooling standards to reduce production costs are the main duties of this job. Researching new suppliers and tooling concepts is required. Project scheduling to test new tools and processes is part of the job.Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality, safety, efficiency, and speedCreate a plan to implement a manufacturing execution system for all shop floor activitiesStudy production and machine requirementsDesign and install equipmentOrganize and manage manufacturing workflows and resourcesIntegrate disparate systems (e.g. equipment handling, transport)Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performanceResolve issues and delays in productionFind ways to reduce costs and maximize qualityTrain staff in new and existing processesCollaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliersEnsure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulationsUpgrade systems and processes with new technologyWork with Facilities and EH&S Manager to ensure all manufacturing processes and tooling are adhering to the EH&S standardsSkills and AbilitiesPrevious experience as a manufacturing & tooling engineer or similar roleKnowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool designFamiliarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniquesCommitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulationsWell-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)Project management skillsProblem-solving abilityTeamwork skillsAbility to occasionally work late shiftsEducation And ExperienceAt least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing and tooling engineering capacity.Knowledge of machining and automated machines is preferred.Computer literate including Microsoft Office applications.Degree in engineering or related industry is a plus.This vacancy is being advertised by Aviation Structure Repairs, LLC.
