Responsibilities:
TheMedical Receptionists primary job function is to work as part of a team to provide high quality, efficient,service-oriented patient care while demonstrating the Companys core values. Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, theMedical Receptionistis responsible for providing a high level of customer service to South Georgia - North Florida Eye Partners patients, community partners, and other Company employees. TheMedical Receptionistis responsible for effectively communicating with patients for the purpose of obtaining and relaying accurate information needed for processing their healthcare visit. This position is charged with answering phone calls from patients and the community and appropriately processing each request. This position is also responsible for processingreferral requests, various medical records requests, and inputtingpatient demographics,andother patient related documents using the Companys electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic workflow processes.ESSENTIALDUTIESInteracts with all internal and external patients in a caring and respectful manner.Schedules/coordinates appointments.Scansrecords and forms according to established policies and procedures.Maintains patient confidentiality.Maintains protected health information in accordance with HIPAA/HITECH privacy/security guidelines.Participates in orientation/instruction of new administrative personnel as requested by management.Responsible for own professional growth.Performs other duties as assigned in a timely mannerMaintains adaptability and flexibility in changing situations, environmentsCompletes tasks and duties in a timely manner as requestedCooperative, helpful,friendlyand respectful towards coworkers, physicians, and managementIs engaged in special projects and completes on time without hesitationCommunicates timely with all coworkers and managementAssist all areas within the office to include but not limited to techs, optical, front office, etc.Efficiently and accurately verify patient demographicsAnswer all incoming phone calls and follow up with outgoing phone calls to patientsVerify insuranceeligibility and benefitinformation when applicableCollect appliable patient balancesSchedule patients for follow-up appointments and address all patient rescheduling / initial scheduling needsObtain and document patient chief complaint, medical history and current medication list.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSHigh school graduate or equivalent1-3 years of medical officeexperiencestrongly preferred, but not required1-3years ofelectronic medical recordexperience strongly preferred, but not requiredBilingual English / Spanish is a plusAdvanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and ability to build consensus among cross-functional teamsStrong problem solving and negotiation skillsExcellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
