advancementPurpose of the Position: Under the general supervision,
provides professional Georgia WIC services to the public. Assesses
nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans.
Provides individual client nutrition and diet counseling and
develops and implements a nutrition care plan for such clients as
required by State or County nutrition guidelines. Assesses
nutritional status of individuals using anthropometrics,
biochemical, clinical, dietary, and socioeconomic data and in
compliance with programmatic guidelines. May supervise
paraprofessionals and/or act as a lead nutritionist for a small
unit or team within a larger program or unit. Minimum
Qualifications D1: Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition,
food and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management,
or closely related fields from an accredited college or university
AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program
accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Minimum
Qualifications D2: Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition,
food and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management,
or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program
accredited by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics AND Two years of
experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: B.S. in eligible degree for
Academy Accredited Dietetic Internship. Georgia WIC experience.
Working knowledge of computer applications such as: databases, word
processing, and spreadsheets. The ability to interpret English to
Spanish and Spanish to English orally is preferred, but not
required. Work Conditions & Physical Demands : Inventory Management
requires lifting of up to 50 lbs. Fast-paced work environment;
ability to prioritize and self-manage tasks needed. Salary
Information : $36,142-$41,106 annually / Pay Grade H or I
