2022 POSITION: Migrant Student Service Provider LOCATION: Lincoln
Complex JOB SUMMARY: Migrant Student Service Provider (MSSP) will
provide classroom support services as needed to meet the unique
educational needs of migrant students. Supplemental services will
be provided as needed to help migrant students successfully meet
the educational standards of the local school system and state. As
well as educational support for the dropouts and out-of-school
youth (OSY).QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum two years of advanced
education; Language fluency in Spanish and English (listening,
speaking, reading, and writing); Must have reliable transportation;
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent
and the Board may find appropriate. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent
communication and organizational skills; Ability to relate to and
motivate all students in a positive manner; Ability to perform
routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job
responsibilities. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Considers home,
school, and community factors when addressing academic needs;
Assists teachers in determining the need for instructional services
by completing migrant student Priority for Services (PFS) forms;
Makes appropriate home visits; Provides tutorial services as needed
in conjunction with the classroom teacher; Communicates progress
and needs of migrant students to classroom teachers; Promotes and
encourages parental involvement in the educational program;
Initiates and/or participates in dropout prevention programs for
migrant students; Identifies and establishes contact with local
employers of migrant labor; Visits labor camps, employers of
migrant labor, and any other locations where migrant laborers and
their families may be found. Initiate enrollment activities;
Maintains contact with GaDOE recruiters and resource specialists;
Interviews prospective participants and complete Certificate of
Eligibility (COE) documents and submit following the guidelines in
the Georgia Migrant Education Program Identification and
Recruitment and Data Collections Handbook; Maintains the
Supplemental Services Tracking Form of all instructional and
supplemental services provided; Completes and submits reports as
directed indicating services rendered to students; Maintains
completed copies of all migrant PFS; Submits withdrawal forms in a
timely manner (within a week of withdrawal); Provides a written
daily schedule to the school, the contact person, and the regional
office; Maintains additional documentation as directed by the GaDOE
regional office; Tracks graduation rates for migrant high school
students; Meets the established deadlines for completion of all
paperwork and reports required by your district, the regional MEP
office, and/or the GaDOE; Attends appropriate workshops and
in-service meetings; Maintains travel log and submits travel
expense reimbursement forms as required by the district; Works
closely with the regional MEP staff in preparation for special
events such as college awareness programs, summer programs at ABAC,
UGA, and GSU, parent advisory council meetings, awards, and honors
programs, and summer schools; Involves migrant parents in community
interest programs, local and state PACs, Comprehensive Needs
Assessment (CAN) meetings, PTA/PTO, and other school events;
Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
REPORTS TO: Associate Superintendent for Academic Services SALARY
RANGE: Part-Time. Competitive salary in accordance with the DCSS
