Job Description

Danfoss Turbocor Global Headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida is searching for a creative and innovative student to fill the role of Aero-Thermal Intern. This is a year-round internship.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
--- Create aerodynamics designs of centrifugal compressor
--- Create air-solid models from compressor conceptual designs
--- Carry out high fidelity computational fluid dynamics modeling of compressor design to predict the performance of the compressor design
--- Compare the predicted results with test data from lab
--- Carry out other tasks as directed by function manager
--- Ability to work 30 hours/week

Background & Skills

BACKGROUND & SKILLS
--- A post-graduate student specialized in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, or Turbomachinery is preferred; outstanding undergraduate students will be considered
--- Working knowledge of CAD packages
--- Experience with MATLAB or Python is preferred
--- Working knowledge of CFD/Structure software packages such as ANSYS, ANSYS CFX, or Fluent
--- Excellent communication skills (with internal/external stakeholders)
--- GPA of 3.5 or above
--- Ability to begin work immediately
