Class A Drivers Altman Plants is a dynamic family-owned wholesale nursery that produces and distributes a wide range of plants for major retailers around the country from facilities in CA, AZ, CO, TX, GA, NJ, and FL. We are looking for Class A Drivers for our location in Cumming. This position is responsible for the delivery of live nursery goods. The position reports to the Facility Manager and Traffic Manager. Key Responsibilities for Class A Drivers Provide exceptional customer service. Effectively merchandise fresh plants from our delivery racks to retail displays. Drivers will sweep and cleanup after merchandising. Able to communicate with store-level personnel and company teammates regularly. Operate vehicles and all equipment in a safe, responsible and professional manner. Conduct daily pre and post trip inspections of vehicles and report any defects to the transportation manager. Keep all electronic and/or paper logs up to date in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Complete all company paperwork in a neat and timely manner. Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle Perform other related duties and assignments as requested. Strong customer service and ability to communicate verbally with customers Sound judgement Strong people and organizational skills Job Requirements for Class A Drivers Minimum 21 years old with a valid Class A driver s license. Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience. All Drivers must maintain good standing driving record. Ability to travel in all states, predominant travel in GA, SC, MS, NC, TN and AL. Some travel may be required to FL, NJ, TX and CA. All Drivers must pass pre-employment substance abuse screening & DOT physical. Meet all qualifications as defined under DOT requirements. Drivers must possess a valid State Driver s License and have an acceptable DMV driving record. Must have and maintain current automobile insurance. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess a valid State Driver s License and have an acceptable DMV driving record. Must have and maintain current automobile insurance. Dependability and punctuality are mandatory. Must be able to work a varied schedule which includes weekends and some holidays. Must have professional demeanor and appearance. Must observe and comply with all company policies and safety practices.
