BLS, ACLS, PALS, ASLS or NIHSS. TNCC preferred. Must-Have: -
Current TNCC certification - Meditech experience - 5 years in a
Level 1 Trauma Facility - Minimum of 2 years in AC - Ability to
take an online Cardiac Rhythms test with a minimum passing score of
80% - Willingness to complete ESI Triage Exam during orientation
Description: Emergency Room RNs will work in a fast-paced
environment. The unit has a designated area for less acute patients
and screens non-emergent patients for community care options. There
are 25 monitored beds, 6 fast treatment beds, 6 fast treatment
chairs, and 2 trauma bays. A behavioral lockdown area is available
that is staffed by psychiatric personnel. The unit typically sees
approximately 140 patient visits per day. Nurse-to-patient ratios
are 1 to 4. Nurses are responsible for their own lab draws and IV
starts. Registered Nurses will be supported by nurse aides,
paramedics, and security/patient sitters. Weekend work is required
every 3-4 weeks, with holiday shifts every other holiday. Common
patient diagnoses range from pediatric to geriatric, including
trauma cases. The unit is a designated CVA center. Additional
experience in Meditech version 6.15 is preferred. Prior experience
with ESI triage training is valued, but not mandatory. Familiarity
with Alaris pumps is also desirable. Central monitoring is
available for patient safety. Pharmacy services are available 24/7
