Location: Dothan, AL Service Setting: Inpatient Hospital Coverage
Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: Ongoing Clinical Shift
Schedule: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM; 7 on / 7 off rotation PATIENT
INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults across all age groups and
demographics Patient Volume/Census: 1520 patients per provider
during day shift Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults:
Yes Case Mix: Unassigned ED patients, inpatient consults,
transfers, critical care (co-managed) FACILITY INFORMATION No. of
Beds in Department: 420-bed facility Trauma Level: Level 2 EMR
System: EPIC Specialty Backup Available: 24/7 subspecialty support
including pulm/critical care and radiology Support Staff Available:
Intensivist support, in-house radiologist, hospitalist team Reason
for Coverage: Expansion of hospitalist program PRIVILEGES &
COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION &

None (no procedures required) JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Must be
licensed or eligible in Alabama Certifications: Board Certified or
Board Eligible in Internal Medicine Experience: Internal Medicine
residency trained Other Qualifications: Comfortable managing
diverse patient populations; throughput efficiency focus DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide inpatient care for ED admissions,
consults, and transfers Co-manage critical care patients with
intensivists (no procedures required) Manage patients in clinical
decision unit Collaborate with subspecialists and hospital support
services Participate in throughput initiatives to reduce patient
length of stay
